On March 18th, the President of Damascus University, Dr. Wael Mualla met with a delegation from the University of Catalonia headed by Josep Hogen Abioska, advisor for university, company and creative affairs. Developing the cooperation between the University of Damascus and the Universities of Catalonia, in the fields of science and culture was the main topic of discussion. Dr. Mualla emphasized that the areas of cooperation might cover tourism, business administration and financial management, in addition to the cooperation started already between the University of Damascus and the University of Barcelona, regarding establishing a joint master of Archeology.The president of the delegation insisted on the importance of exchanging knowledge and research between the two institutions in every specialization. He also pointed out that Spain has a great interest in the University of Damascus, as it is one of the oldest universities in the region.In addition to Josep Hogen Abioska, the delegation included Joan Peñas President of the University of Breda and representative for Catalan universities, Gordes Cert Executive Director of trade and investment in Catalonia, and the Cultural Attache in the embassy of Spain.
