On March 23rd Dr. Wael Mualla, the President of Damascus University, with Professor Jackie Matona, the Vice President of the French University of Clermont Ferrand, and his accompanying delegation sought out the best ways to promote bilateral scientific and research cooperation between the two universities.The two sides discussed issues related to the development of cooperation between the universities including the creation of shared programs and Master’s degrees especially in the fields of law, economics and medicine. They also discussed the possibility of agreements specifying the areas of cooperation between them.And Dr. Mualla expressed the desire of the university to send lecturers for specialization in the French university, especially in the field of medicine since the French university boasts two advanced centers for the studies of oncology and pain management. In their turn, the French side expressed the readiness of the University of Clermont Ferrand to discuss all forms of cooperation with Damascus University in the various areas of common interest.
