On April fourteenth Dr. Wael Mulla, President of the University of Damascus met with  Professor Pranko Kofatchevitch, President of the University of Belgrade, who was accompanied by a scientific delegation, to discuss the possibility of developing a cooperative scientific and academic relationship between the two universities. The Serbian ambassador to Damascus was also in attendance.    The discussion concentrated on the development of relations that would encompass all scientific and academic fields and allow the University of Belgrade to benefit from the experience of the professors and researchers at the University of Damascus, as well as in the field of teaching Arabic to foreigners.  It was suggested that the two sides sign an agreement to lay out the points that were discussed. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued communication and consultation between responsible parties in both institutions in order to find the best form for the relationship to take with respect to mutual research and academic projects.
