On April 20th, Dr. Jamal al-Abbas, the Secretary of the Branch of Baath Party at Damascus University, and Dr. Wael Mualla, President of the University of Damascus, opened two new labs in the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.One lab contains power stations and a complete apparatus to create electricity from steam energy, capable of generating 20 kilowatts of energy. The other lab is equipped with internal combustion engines installed on platforms that can be powered by gasoline and diesel, while other platforms are set up to test adjustable compression. Both labs will be used by first year graduate students and professors to conduct scientific experiments.
