
1 – The importance of management consulting: A study on the limited number of micro-companies in the state of Kelantan, Malaysia. 2 – Development of efficient patterns of leadership in improving small industrial companies: A study on the pioneering work of Albomeptura in Malacca. 3 – The role of SMEs in development in Syria. 4 - Adopting the Malaysia framework of corporate governance: Implications for administrative structure.
At the end of the meeting, extensive discussions were held on how to improve the performance of industrial companies, particularly small companies, and how to take advantage of Malaysian experience in this regard.
Theme 2: Islamic Finance: Innovation in Islamic Financial Products This meeting was opened by Dr. Ali Kanna, head of banking and finance at the Faculty of Economics, at one o'clock and lasted almost two hours. And presented during the meeting were the following topics: 1 – The perspective of Islamic banking on the fair loan in Islamic banks in Malaysia. 2 – Islamic banking in Malaysia: the degree of compatibility with the global banking system. 3 – The economic perspective of social responsibility to the Islamic banks in Malaysia. 4 – The fundamental differences between Takaful(Islamic) and conventional insurance. At the end of the meeting there were discussions and questions posed to the lecturers on the importance of implementing Islamic finance and the most ideal way to benefit from it.
Theme 3: Entrepreneurship in Higher Education: Practices and Challenges The meeting opened under the chairmanship of Dr. Butrous Malia, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, at four o'clock and lasted one and a half hours. Dr. Malia began by defining entrepreneurship, its history, as well as its importance in advancing development and economic growth. The meeting included the following topics: 1 – Leadership: The Syrian Experience and the Role of University Education. 2 – The Need for Entrepreneurs in Information and Management. 3 – Entrepreneurship and its role in Malaysia's trade. At the end of the meeting the most importance issues discussed were how to help graduates in thinking and developing innovative ideas that will benefit the entrepreneur and the community and how to contribute in advancing development. Closing Session: The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mustafa Abdallah Kafri, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, where he underlined the importance of cooperation between Syria and Malaysia. He also noted that this seminar was extremely important in order to open the door for further cooperation as well as an exchange of experience and ideas between teachers. Both sides expressed hope that this symposium would open cooperation between the two universities and help pave the way to formal cooperation at the government level and result in the signing of joint agreements between the two countries. The session concluded with an exchange of symbolic gifts.
