The Damascus University branch of Al-BAATH Arab Socialist party held a ceremony on the 17th of May to honor 47 distinguished workers from different directorates, faculties, hospitals, and medical centers at the university. Both Dr. Jamal Al-Abbas, the secretary of the branch at Damascus University, and Dr, Tareq Al-Khayer, the vice president of Damascus University for students and administrative affairs attended this ceremony, in addition to members of the branch leadership and a number of students, officials, and workers honored.
In her speech, Mrs. Rajaa Ibrahim, pointed out the essential role the employees perform in their various categories and workplaces. And the important achievements they fulfilled which reflected positively on the development process. She also noted the huge tasks and responsibilities entrusted to them which would require a doubling of efforts and capacity-building.
Dr. Tareq Al-Khayer highlighted in his speech the great efforts made by the employees in all categories to support the success of the plans, projects, and programs of the university as a result of their dedication to the performance of their professional duties. Dr. Al-Khayer pointed out that Damascus University seeks diligently to obtain the best conditions of living for its employees, as it believes in the important role they have in all categories.
The distribution of prizes and appreciation certificates to the distinguished employees took place at the end of the ceremony.
