On may 24th, Prof. Dr. Wael Mualla, president of Damascus University met with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shawqi Ayden, vice president of religious affairs in Turkey, and discussed developing the academic and scientific relations between the two sides in various fields.
The Turkish side expressed the desire to send about 40 professors of faculties of Islamic jurisprudence to follow Arabic language courses at Damascus University, especially in conversation and the techniques of delivering lectures in Arabic.The two sides agreed to implement this program of summer courses at the higher language institute for three months starts in July 2010.
Prof. Dr. Wael Mualla expressed the readiness of Damascus University to receive the Turkish professors and students in the higher language institute and provide all facilities in this regard.This meeting was attended by deans of the faculties of Arts and humanities, Islamic jurisprudence, and the higher language institute.
