The Faculty of Arts utilized during this week of the second semester exams, three of its new auditoriums with capacity of 340 students for each.
The new building of auditoriums in addition to the building of the faculty of information will be ready for use in the beginning of the next academic year.
Prof. Dr. Wael Mualla, president of Damascus University stressed, during his visit to the faculty, that proceeding in the finishing stages of the construction reflects the commitment of Damascus University to provide all needed requirements for the teaching process.Dr. Mualla also emphasized the necessity to complete all new buildings to be into service as soon as possible.
The exams of the second semester in the faculty of Arts started on 25th of May with hiring three auditoriums from the faculty of Medicine in a quest to ease the huge pressure of approximately 45000 students.
It is worth mentioning that the multi-store area of the new building is about 15000 square meters, it consists of 15 auditoriums with capacity of 340 students for each. This new expansion currently under way in the faculty of Arts includes 5 blocks with a floor area of 40000 square meters.
