Commemorating World Children’s day, Dr. Jamal Abbas, Director of the Ba’ath Party branch at Damascus University, and University President Wael Mualla hosted an exposition of the artwork of children and caretakers in the day care centers at Damascus University and the Ministry of Higher Education (MHE) with the goal of developing children’s artistic skills and encouraging their potential.
The participants were the children of the employees of Damascus University, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the teaching hospitals. The exposition included educational tools, drawings depicting images in nature like flowers, trees, plants, and animals, in addition to a variety of art forms, and games in which the children drew cartoons and molded clay, as well as handicrafts made from strips of fabric and household items which expressed the children’s talents, and dreams.
There were indications that this will become an annual event at Damascus University, in order to provide the children with the opportunity to discover their artistic talents and abilities, under the supervision of the caretakers at the 11 daycare centers throughout Damascus University, the teaching hospitals and the Ministry of Higher Education.
