This year Damascus University welcomed more than twenty thousand new students in regular system alone, bringing the number of students to about one hundred and twenty thousand students, in addition to the sixty thousand students enrolled in Open Learning system. Numbers, if nothing else, indicate the great amount of responsibility laid upon the university and the importance of the role that it plays in
