The Faculty of Health Sciences’ Workshop to promote the principles of scientific research from the implementation of the graduation project to external publication.

The Faculty of Health Sciences at Damascus University organized a training workshop entitled “Enhancing the principles of scientific research from implementing the graduation project to external publication,” directed to fourth-year students in the Faculty from all specializations, and presented by a group of students from the Faculty of Medicine who are distinguished researchers in external publication.

The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Samer Mohsen, explained that the aim of the workshop is to encourage final year students to implement graduation projects and produce them in the form of a research article that will be published externally, given that the students have currently completed the practical part of their projects and are currently preparing to write the theoretical part. It is necessary to teach students how to convert their research project and its results into a research paper, and how to correspond with external journals to publish these articles, pointing out that all graduation projects are original research projects and it is important to publish them globally.

Dr. Mohsen pointed out that the trainers are undergraduate students at the Faculty of Medicine who are distinguished in the field of scientific publishing within the Syrian Research Academy team. They have a collection of scientific research published in high-level international journals, including journals classified as D1. During the workshop, they will present all stages of performance. From the results of the research to writing and publishing it, and thus transferring their expertise and experience to their colleagues in this field

Researcher Jamil Soukieh (sixth year student at the Faculty of Medicine) stated that the research team has 22 external articles, and is working with all its energy to spread the culture of scientific research, benefit from graduation projects, and publish them in international journals in a way that reflects positively on the university, pointing out that the research papers that were published by undergraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine are high-level; seven articles were published in D1 journals.

Loujain Nahhas (sixth year Medicine student) considered the training workshop an important step for the academy team, to transfer its experiences to the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences to launch their research projects and then help them to publish them externally.
