Professional and Inventor from Damascus University in the Change Makers Exhibition at WIPO

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) celebrated World Intellectual Property Day 2024 under the theme "Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development Goals: Building Our Shared Future with Innovation and Creativity". Among the activities in this field is "Change Makers Exhibition", which celebrates innovators, creators, adventurers and entrepreneurs around the world who use intellectual property rights to achieve the sustainable development goals.

 

A number of the attending Syrians, many from Damascus University, were unprecedentedly selected to join the organization. Assistant Professor Mohammed Ghanem Youssef from the Faculty of Law joined the list of innovators as a professional in intellectual property. Director of the Nanotechnology Laboratory at Faculty of Science was chosen as an accredited trainer by WIPO at the National Training Center in Intellectual Property in Syria. Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ghoraibi, joined the organization as an inventor.

 

World Intellectual Property Day falls on April 26 of each year, as specified by WIPO. It aims to raise awareness of the role intellectual property rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity in the world.
