The National Authority for Quality and Accreditation at the Ministry of Higher Education conducted the Unified Medical Exam, September 2024, for sixth-year students, graduates of medical faculties in public and private universities, and graduates of non-Syrian universities.
The sixth lecture in the Civil Engineering Faculty workshop, titled "Climate Change – Reality and Challenges," addressed the topic of emissions resulting from mechanical and biological treatment methods for municipal solid waste. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sherien Elagroudy from Egypt via Zoom to the students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Damascus University, under the theme "Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Recycling, and Waste Management and Climate Change Law and Policy."
The second day of the Second International Russian-Syrian Conference on Healthcare featured several key topics, focusing on psychiatry and neurology, a roundtable discussion on pediatrics, and lectures on biological safety and dermatological diseases.
The visit of the Russian delegation to University Hospital for Dermatology and Venereal Diseases at Damascus University included the signing of a joint scientific cooperation agreement between the Hospital, represented by its Director, Dr. Ali Ammar, with the Russian side, represented by the Russian Deputy Minister of Health and the chief dermatologist in Russia.
The activities of the second Russian-Syrian conference in the field of healthcare under the title "Ibn Sina's Methods" began with scientific lectures from the Department of Ophthalmology, which were held alternately by the Russian and Syrian sides. They shed light on the latest developments and advancements in the field of ophthalmology, new diagnostic and treatment techniques for eye diseases.
Within the activities of the Second Russian-Syrian Conference in the field of healthcare under the title, "Ibn Sina’s Methods", Damascus University - Faculty of Medicine and Krasnov Research Institute of Eye Diseases in Russia signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at deepening and developing scientific cooperation relations and academic exchange between the two parties.
Damascus University - Hospital for Dermatology and Venereal Diseases signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Union of Dermatologists and Cosmetologists of the Russian Federation (NADC). The memorandum aimed at establishing and expanding cooperation in the field of development and clinical implementation of modern devices, technological complexes, and clinical protocols for the treatment of skin diseases between the two parties.
The second module of the fellowship in microscopic endodontics was launched at the Faculty of Dentistry, Damascus University. The fellowship was organized by the Office of Professional Practice at the Faculty and supervised by the Department of Dental Treatment. Professors from Syrian Universities are participating in this program, which is held in the Microscopic Applications Laboratory – the one and only in Syria with equipment of international specifications and world training standards.
Higher Institute of Seismic Research and Studies at Damascus University organized a seminar entitled “Mechanism of Ants’ Action in Early Warning of Disasters,” presented by Professor Hussain Aziz Saleh, at the auditorium of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Integrating students with disabilities into society, meeting their needs and helping them achieve a positive impact are among the most important goals of the Student Empowerment and Leadership Center during this stage, within the framework of its role in promoting inclusiveness and equality and achieving interaction and cooperation between students.
