Investing in Housing: Interactive panel discussion at Damascus University

 The interactive seminar organized by Damascus University in cooperation with relevant faculties and ministries discussed investment in housing, possibilities and objectives, in the presence of the Ministers of Higher Education, Public Works and Housing, President and deputies of Damascus University and representatives of ministries and governmental and private bodies, at the University's auditorium.

 

 

During the seminar, participants presented several interventions and proposals on mechanisms for investing in housing, accompanied difficulties and potential objectives under the current circumstances and the significant difficulties and challenges.

 

 

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim pointed out the need to focus on securing youth housing in certain areas and at a lower cost through appropriate loans, giving this priority at the present time.

 

 

Minister of Public Works and Housing, Engineer Suhail Abdul Latif, responded to the questions and proposals raised by the participants on various respects, stressing the importance of the academic and operational concepts on housing presented at the seminar.

 

 

Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Damascus University Dr. Rida Deeb talked about the international context of housing investment, the national context, housing policies and their relationship to investment in the Syrian context, the importance of flexibility in national strategies, the development of housing policies and their intersection with investment laws, and related topic.
