First Annual International Conference for Syrian Psychiatric Association in Cooperation with Damascus University

 

In cooperation with Damascus University, the Syrian Psychiatric Association had its first annual international conference under the title “Integration of Mental Health Pathways”. Professors and specialists in psychiatry, mental health, counseling and psychotherapy from Syria and overseas participated in the conference

 

Topics discussed focus on digital transformation in mental health, the path of drug treatment and psychiatry, psychological therapies, sociology and its interventions in mental health, and the management of mental disabilities and comprehensive developmental disorders.

Assistant Health Minister for Pharmaceutical Affairs, Dr. Razan Salouta, stressed that the Ministry has sponsored this event in line with the its approach to partner with all health sectors.

 

Dr. Mazen Khalil, President of the Syrian Psychiatric Association and Chairman of the Conference, said that it is significant that this conference provides exchange of experiences and expertise among workers and researchers.

 

Dr. Youssef Latifa, Professor of Mental Health at the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University, gave a lecture on the challenges facing personalized medicine and precision medicine, how to recover from molecular biology and genetics, and how to manufacture medications specific to mental disorders.
