A Delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria Visits a Number of Faculties at Damascus University

Within the framework of enhancing cooperation between Damascus University and the Bulgarian side, a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria held several meetings with a number of deans of faculties at Damascus University, with the aim of reviewing the situation of these faculties and discussing ways of scientific, academic, research and technical cooperation between the two sides.

 

In this context, Mr. Plamen Hristov, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Damascus, accompanied by Mr. Chavdar Mitev, First Secretary at the Embassy, visited the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Damascus University on Sunday 5/12/2024, and met with the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Khawla Mansour, her deputies, department heads at the faculty, and a number of professors. During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation in the technical, engineering, academic, and research fields were discussed.

 

The Bulgarian delegation also visited the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering on Monday 5/13/2024, and met its Dean, Prof. Moustafa Mawaldi and his deputies, in the presence of Prof. Assem Qaddah, Secretary of the Council of Technical Institutes, and the heads of its scientific departments, with the aim of discussing the prospects for developing cooperation relations between the two sides. Bilateral activities and programs that aim to enhance academic and scientific cooperation and activate joint cooperation with regard to training, qualification, scientific research, student exchange, and benefiting from the expertise of Bulgarian universities with regard to rehabilitation of laboratories and maintenance of laboratory equipment at the faculty were discussed.

 

On Wednesday, 15/5/ 2024, the Bulgarian delegation visited the medical faculties (the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry) and met with their deans, Prof. Raed Abu Harb, Prof. Lama Youssef, and Prof. Khaldoun Darwich, in the presence of the Director of International Relations at the university in the office of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

 

It is noteworthy that the visit of the Bulgarian delegation to Damascus University aims to develop cooperation between the two sides with various Bulgarian universities and scientific institutions in various fields, and this visit will include the Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Information technology at Damascus University.
