“Let Every Child Have a Voice” event was launched at Damascus University marking the first anniversary of the launch of the National Program for Early Hearing Loss Detection and Intervention in Newborns.
The Higher Institute of Translation and Interpretation at Damascus university organized a symposium entitled “Translation and the Labour Market,” targeting the Institute’s students and those working in the field of translation, with the participation of professors from Damascus university, graduates of the Institute, and specialists from the labour market.
The "First Scientific Forum for Modern Technologies in Dental Implants” was concluded. The event was organized by the Office of Professional Practice at the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University with the participation of international professors and lecturers, and it included distinctive theoretical and practical training topics.
A research conducted at the University of Damascus in cooperation with the Atomic Energy Commission of Syria sheds light on the effect of the thermal lens (TL) of Cadmium Selenide quantum dots (CdSe QDs) using a dual beam Z-scan technique, where the nonlinear optical properties of the thermal lens of CdSe QDs were investigated by applying the two CW laser beams (λ = 532 nm and λ = 632.8 nm).
The Technology Growth Incubator participated in the International Businessmen and Businesswomen and Service Companies Forum/Servex2024, held at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, showcasing 14 projects adopted by the incubator from the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Information Technology at Damascus University.
Faculty of Science at Damascus University and the Iraqi Mathematical Society concluded the 14th International Scientific Conference of the Iraqi Mathematical Society, entitled “Creativity Meets Challenges for Scientific and Technological Progress”, in the specializations of mathematics, statistics, computer science and physics.
Scientific participation in the 14th International Scientific Conference of the Iraqi Mathematical Society was distinguished by the diversity of topics raised within its four axes, through scientific and research papers and lectures presented by researchers from Syrian, Iraqi and Lebanese universities.
Since its establishment a hundred years ago, Damascus University has sought to enhance the role of women and empower them. There have always been experiences of pioneering female researchers from Damascus University. From this standpoint, the Female Academic Empowerment Unit and the Businesswomen Committee of Damascus Chamber of Commerce organized a ceremony to honor 43 young female researchers from Damascus University, according to the conditions and standards set by the Directorate of Scientific Research at the university.
In the presence of Minister of Higher Education, Prof Bassam Ibrahim, and President of Damascus University, Prof Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, the Fourteenth International Scientific Conference of the Iraqi Mathematical Society began under the slogan: “Creativity Meets Challenges for Scientific and Technological Progress,” which is organized by the Faculty of Science at the Damascus University and the Iraqi Mathematical Society, in cooperation with the Second Faculty of Science, Daraa Branch, and Al-Anwar Center for Development and Education in Iraq.
Based on strengthening the role of the Faculty of Dentistry and keeping pace with all that is new, scientific activities continue in the faculty to realize the goal of Damascus University in serving society. In this context, the Office of Professional Practice organized the “First Scientific Forum for Modern Technologies in Dental Implants” with the participation of international professors and lecturers.
