The Syrian Fellowship Program for Laser Applications, organized by the Faculty of Dentistry, aims to provide academic lectures delivered by international experts in laser sciences and their applications in dentistry.
Professor Khaldoun Darwish, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University, highlighted that the fellowship program has reached its fifth module, noting the great excellence achieved by the program in terms of the number of participating students and experts. He mentioned that the Laser Applications Fellowship Program consists of six modules over a full year.
Head of the Department of Oral Medicine at the Faculty of Dentistry and Scientific Coordinator of the Fellowship Program, Dr. Omar Hamada, pointed out that the fifth module of the fellowship program focuses on erbium laser applications, which are used specifically in conservative dental treatments involving hard tissues such as tooth preparation, veneer removal, and periodontal treatments. Dr. Hamada also indicated that the lectures will be covered by Professor Rita Feghali from Lebanon and by himself in collaboration with the Higher Institute for Laser Research and Applications.
Professor Rita Feghali mentioned that she is participating in the fellowship program for the third consecutive time since its launch at Damascus University. Dr. Feghali referred to the high level of laser devices available at Damascus University and the significant response she observed from participants during the previous fellowship programs.
