President of Damascus University discusses Future Cooperation with Action Against Hunger Delegation

 President of Damascus University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, had a meeting with Action Against Hunger delegation which included the organization’s Deputy Director, Haidi Sadiq, and Food Security and Livelihoods Coordinator, Dr. Wael Haddad. The two parties discussed prospects and areas of cooperation.

 

Prof. Al-Jabban talked about the achievements of the university so far- especially regarding global rating and international accreditation. He also expressed the university’s willingness to cooperate with the organization in various fields.

 

Deputy Regional Director for Program Affairs at Action Against Hunger provided an overview of the organization’s work: the process, the geographical areas involved, and the agreements with parties inside Syria. According to the deputy, the organization works in the fields of health and nutrition, water and sanitation, public community awareness, agriculture and livelihoods.

 

Dean of the Agriculture Engineering Faculty, Prof. Dr. Afraa Salloum, talked about the faculty’s specializations and infrastructure. She also referred to the scientific research performed at the faculty, which has been done so far as per the Sustainable Development Goals and food security.

 

Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger, helping children suffering from malnutrition, and providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger.
