The international training workshop “Urban spaces’ ecological resilience in the urban built environment of Damascus” concluded at the Italian University of Sapienza organized by the Department of Urban Renewal at Barada RivEr/Generation_LAB.
Dean of the Higher Institute for Regional Planning, Dr. Ghada Bilal, explained that the workshop included the participation of seven Syrian students and a number of international students, and they all worked cooperatively and seriously to be able to present two different strategies for the project, through coordination and integration of the work of the teams, with the aim of implementing an urban regeneration strategy for the Barada River in Damascus. The winning students and participants were honored at the end of the workshop.
Dr. Bilal added that it was agreed to coordinate future workshops within the framework of the scientific cooperation agreement between the Department of Urban Renewal at Sapienza University and the Higher Institute for Regional Planning at Damascus University.
