"Modern Sciences and Research in Dental Implants": A Scientific Day at the Faculty of Dentistry

The Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University organized a scientific day featuring a series of lectures and modern research in the field of dental implants, highlighting the research of postgraduate students in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery under the supervision of a distinguished group of the department's professors.

In his opening speech, Dean Dr. Khaldoun Darwich emphasized the importance of the scientific day organized by the faculty, noting that this day serves as a platform to enhance knowledge and keep abreast of the latest research and technologies in dental implants.

Dr. Darwich praised the role of Damascus University in advancing scientific development and supporting research across various medical specialties. He mentioned that the scientific day would be followed by a free training day in the faculty’s laboratories to train participants on implant techniques.

Regarding his lecture, Dr. Darwich explained that it is based on the doctoral research of student Ghina Alassa, titled "Early Loading of Dental Implants". The lecture will cover the latest techniques and methods in immediate and early loading post-implantation.

Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Omar Hashmeh, affirmed that the faculty strives through this event to provide a comprehensive educational environment that supports postgraduate students and practicing dentists. In his lecture, presented in partnership with PhD student Youssef Rmeileh, titled "Surgical Guide Between the Past and the Future", Prof. Hashmeh will address the role of digital dentistry in treatment and how modern technology has developed surgical guides to become more precise and effective.

Dr. Mazen Al-Zeenati spoke about his lecture, presented in partnership with PhD student Mohammad Al-Droubi, titled "Comparisons Between Zygomatic and Pterygoid Implants for Replacing Missing Upper Teeth". Prof. Al-Zeenati explained that the lecture will provide a detailed comparison between zygomatic and pterygoid implant techniques in terms of effectiveness, application methods, and challenges faced when using each techniq
