Market concentration and efficiency are important determinants of banks' performance and stability during crises in the world. In order to test this hypothesis experimentally, a scientific study was conducted at the Higher Institute for Administrative Development at Damascus University. The study was entitled: “Bank performance and financial stability during the COVID-19 pandemic: lessons from the MENA region.”

The Syrian Fellowship Program for Laser Applications in Dentistry completed the work of its second module at the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University with four theoretical lectures, and a practical application of laser applications on animal heads.

A training workshop on “Biological Endodontic Treatments for Young Permanent Teeth” was launched at the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University, organized by the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and the Faculty Professional Practice Office, with the participation of a distinguished group of professors.

The second module of the Syrian Fellowship Programme for Laser Applications in Dentistry has commenced at the Faculty of Dentistry, Damascus University, with participation from Spain and Japan via Zoom.

 The President of Damascus University, Professor Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, met with the First Secretary, Commercial and Economic Attaché, and Head of the Development Cooperation Department at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus, Mr. Tomáš Khlopcek, to discuss the prospects for the scientific cooperation and future partnership between the two sides in order to serve the existing infrastructure projects in Syria in the affected areas.

 President of Damascus University, Prof. Muhammad Osama al-Jabban, met with a delegation of graduate students from the Bolgar Islamic Academy in the Russian Federation (specializing in Islamic Economics) that is visiting Damascus University within the framework of the scientific cooperation agreement signed between the two sides.

 In the presence of the Vice President of Damascus University for Scientific Affairs, professors and students, as well as ambassadors and representatives of Spanish-speaking countries, the Spanish Language Department of the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, Damascus University, commemorated UN Spanish Language Day.

Arabic Rhetoric is one of the featured Arabic language sciences. Its understanding is essential in understanding the goals and meanings of Arabic texts. The Holy Qur’an has contributed greatly in the prosperity of the Arabic language worldwide at the time of its revelation and in its survival and immortality throughout the ages.

In collaboration with the Al-Quds International Foundation, the Union of Arab Historians in Baghdad, the General Union of Craftsmen, and the Arab Writers Union, the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences launched its second scientific conference today. The event was complemented by a display of traditional Syrian crafts of the Dummar Central Incubator of Syrian Traditional Arts.

The first pre-marriage course was launched at the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Damascus, in cooperation with the Ifaf Charitable Society, which is concerned with pre marriage preparing and training and family reform. 150 young men and women, married or about to get married.
