Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University Participates in the 18th International Makkah Dental Conference and Exhibition

The Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University participated in the 18th International Makkah Dental Conference and Exhibition "MAKKAH DENTAL 2024," held in Makkah from October 24 to 26, 2024. The event was attended by delegations from dental associations inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with a select group of specialists and people interested in oral health and dentistry, aiming to exchange knowledge, innovations, and advance research in the field of dentistry.

 

Dr. Ammar Mahmoud Mashlah and Dr. Abeer Ahmed Al-Joujou from the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University delivered two scientific lectures. The first was titled "Dental Implants in Diabetic Patients: Risk Factors & Secrets of Success," focusing on dental implantation in diabetic patients and the keys to success in this area. The second lecture, titled "Oral Ulcerations: Diagnosis and Management Strategies," addressed the diagnosis and management of oral ulcers.

 

Their participation also included hosting a workshop consisting of 6 lectures on the applications of low-level lasers in dentistry (covering the basics of laser physics, the mechanism of laser tissue interaction, laser in modern dentistry, photobiomodulation, photodynamic therapy with lasers, and diode laser applications in dentistry).

 

This participation provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the academic and research contributions of the faculty, highlighting its efforts in supporting medical innovations and fostering scientific collaboration with various international institutions.
