Lecture by Professor Ibrahim Ibrahimov on Promoting Spiritual and Moral Values ​​at Damascus University


 

Faculty of Sharia and Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Damascus University, in cooperation with the Russian Cultural Center, held a lecture by Dr. Ibrahim Ibrahimov, Vice President of Pyatigorsk State University in Russia. The lecture entitled “Promoting Spiritual and Moral Values ​​in Russia by Establishing Family Traditions and Their Role in Preserving Society,” comes within the framework of strengthening mutual relations between Syria and Russia.

 

President of Damascus University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, stated that the university has always been keen to provide outstanding opportunities for students to meet prominent figures, such as Professor Ibrahim Ibrahimov today, consult and discuss with them for the aim of promoting tolerance and good spiritual and moral values.

 

In his lecture, Dr. Ibrahim Ibrahimov spoke about morals and spiritual values to be embodied by people as they have been the moral guidelines for traditional religions in the world. At the end of his lecture, Ibrahimov wished that peace and security would prevail in Syria and that it would overcome all difficulties.

 

Dean of Faculty of Shariaa, Dr. Mohamad Hassan Awad, said that the lecture aims to enhance morals and spiritual values in order to fortify and build family and society. Families with no values are a failure, he said, which means losing individuals and losing society, consequently.

 

Advisor to the Russian Cultural Center, Mr. Ali Ahmad, said that this opportunity is significant because it gives students and professors the chance to know more about the Russian society (morally, religiously and from a legislative perspective), noting that both the Syrian and Russian states have the same moral values, traditions and customs.

 

Interactive meeting followed the lecture, with Professor Ibrahim Ibrahimov answering all the questions raised by the audience.
