The Technical Institute for Agriculture at Damascus University, in cooperation with Reach to Infinity Training and Consultation Team, organized a training course on “The Use of Artificial Intelligence Applications in Agricultural and Educational technologies”, with the participation of experts, specialists and professors from the Institute.
Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences at the Damascus University concluded its production camp for the academic year 2023/2024, which was organized in cooperation with the Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums in Damascus. The camp included a group of activities and events that contributed to enhancing the students' skills and providing them with the necessary knowledge in the field of archaeology.
Technical Institute for Agriculture at Damascus University concluded the activities of the summer training program, which extended for a month with the participation of more than 150 male and female students from various specializations, under the supervision of Director of the Institute, Dr. Amjad Al-Youssef, his Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Lamis Saqr, and members of the teaching and technical staff of the four departments in the Institute.
The third axis of the virtual workshop on “Climate Change – Reality and Challenges" was launched at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Damascus University. The axis focuses on climate change adaptation, disaster management, and sustainability in the face of climate change through a virtual lecture by Dr. Youssef Diab via Zoom, entitled "The Impacts of Climate Change on Cities and Their Adaptability."
The Higher Institute for Seismic Research and Studies at Damascus University organized a workshop entitled “Development of Concrete Types and Pouring Procedures and Measures in Hot Weather” in the presence of graduate students at the institute and a number of people working in the construction and building sector from governmental and private entities.
The second phase of the admission competition at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University began today. Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University, Dr. Fouad Dahdouh, stated that the number of applicants to the second phase of the competition at the university reached 1,127 male and female students out of 1,470 students who passed the first phase.
Today, Provost of Damascus University, Dr. Taleb Al-Ali, inspected the admission test to the Faculty of Political Science, which is being conducted for the first time, in implementation of the Ministry of Higher Education’s decision to adopt a an admission test at the faculty during the current academic year 2024-2025.
Damascus University is participating in the 48th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), hosted by Kazakhstan in the capital, Astana, between 15 to 20 September, along with Arab and international universities.
Today, the activities of the Artificial Intelligence Conference in Higher Education and Community Service was concluded at Damascus University Auditorium, in cooperation with Ajloun University in Jordan and the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation at the Association of Arab Universities, in the presence of the presidents of the two universities, Professor Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban and Professor Firas Al-Hanandeh. The closing session of the conference included discussing and approving the recommendations and final results of the conference, and distributing certificates of appreciation and participation to the participating researchers.
The second day of the first International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, which was organized by Damascus University and Ajloun National University in cooperation with the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation at the Association of Arab Universities, included scientific lectures, discussion sessions, workshops and discussions on the challenges and ethics of artificial intelligence.
