Faculty of Civil Engineering organizes the fifth workshop on “Climate Change: Reality and Challenges”. Dr. Noma Al-Sharif, via Zoom, gave a lecture on the “Evaluation of Emissions resulting from Mechanical and Biological Treatment of Municipal Solid Waste: Towards Sustainable Waste Management”, in which she highlighted adaptation to climate change.
The lecture addressed the importance of developing methods for treating mechanical and biological waste, which reduces harmful environmental impacts and achieves sustainable waste management. This is bound to reduce harmful emissions from waste, which contributes to improving the response to climate change challenges and ensuring long-term environmental sustainability.
Dr. Khawla Mansour, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, pointed out the need to integrate sustainable environmental solutions that reduce harmful emissions. She also believes that initiatives such as these will protect the environment.
Dr. Mansour stresses that it is important for students to attend such interactive lectures to enhance their understanding of global environmental challenges and develop their skills to find innovative and sustainable solutions towards sustainable environmental development.
