Launching the First International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education and Community Service at Damascus University Auditorium

Today, the first International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education and Community Service kicked off at Damascus University, organized by Damascus University and Ajloun National University in Jordan in collaboration with the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation at the Association of Arab Universities.

 

The conference discussions focus on the strategies of artificial intelligence in enhancing digital financial inclusion, activating its mechanisms, ethics, risks, the need for legal regulation, its use in military warfare and its impact on international security, as well as the ethical realities of artificial intelligence, its use in cybersecurity and in dental implants through scientific papers by researchers from Damascus and Ajloun Universities.

 

Dr. Mohammad Osama Al-Jabban, President of Damascus University, emphasized that the conference presents an important opportunity for researchers to exchange knowledge and scientific experiences in the field of enhancing artificial intelligence technologies and applications, discussing challenges, future prospects, and the importance of cooperation with Ajloun University.

Dr. Feras Hanandeh, President of Ajloun University in Jordan, explained that the use of artificial intelligence in education can help tailor educational experiences to meet individual students' needs, thereby enhancing learning effectiveness and increasing academic success opportunities.

 

The opening session included a speech by the founder of Damascus University, Professor Dr. Reda Saeed, utilizing advanced artificial intelligence technologies, stating, "The choice of Damascus University to host this important international conference confirms the leading role of this university in adopting modern technologies and harnessing them for the service of humanity as a whole.”

 

Dr. Ahmed Majid Ahmed from Iraq delivered a lecture on the use of artificial intelligence programs in military warfare and their impact on international security.

 

Vice President for Research Affairs and Graduate Studies at Damascus University, Professor Dr. Gaith Warkozek, explained that the conference's aim is to enhance partnership with Arab universities in discussing topics and ethics of artificial intelligence, whether through the ethics adopted in international universities or those pursued by industrial institutions that develop artificial intelligence, stressing the university's commitment to keeping pace with technological advancements in all fields, including the field of artificial intelligence, which has become a global concern.

 

Over the course of three days, participants will discuss applications of artificial intelligence in radiological facial and maxillary diagnosis using digital imaging, the criminal liability of artificial intelligence, its future in business development, and its role in enhancing architectural design and fostering creative integration between science and art.
