The Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences at Damascus University organized a lecture entitled “Criticism of Biblical Narratives” delivered by the Iraqi thinker Dr. Fadel Al-Rubaie in the presence of students, professors and a number of interested people.
Vice President of Damascus University for Open Learning, Dr. Ragdaa Naeesa, confirmed that such seminars and lectures at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences have a major role in raising awareness among students of these sensitive periods in the region’s history.
In his lecture, Dr. Fadel Al-Rubaie spoke about the relationship between the biblical narrative and archeology by reviewing aspects of that narrative that the Zionist movement relied on in creating a national homeland for the Jews in Palestine. He also presented evidence that refutes that narrative based on archaeological studies carried out by Western archaeologists.
