Quality Assurance Center at Damascus University organized a workshop entitled Introduction to the Six Sigma Methodology, with the participation of representatives of quality offices in the faculties and higher institutes of Damascus University, a number of faculty members interested in quality control in administrative and educational work, in addition to the administrative staff in the Department of Ecumenical Relations, and graduate students at the University.
Dr. Amirah Al-Nour, Director of Quality Assurance Center at the University, pointed out that the workshop focuses on the Six Sigma, which is widely applied in the administrative field and can be used in the educational field, noting that the workshop aims to familiarize participants with its methodology, steps and applications in the administrative and educational process.
During his participation in the first part of the workshop, Dr. Mohammad Faris Abu Saif from the Higher Institute for Administrative Development at Damascus University addressed the subject of quality from a statistical perspective and statistical tools for quality control, stressing that Six Sigma is a relatively modern technology at the level of physical industries and is currently being applied in the field of higher education. In the second part of the workshop, Dr. Abu Saif focused on the Six Sigma methodology, its stages and steps of implementation, and some practical applications.
