Online lecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering on Climate Change

The Faculty of Civil Engineering at Damascus University organized an online lecture entitled “Global Warming and Energetic Potential of Solid Waste Landfills in Jordan Using Different Modeling Techniques,” delivered by Dr. Hani Abu Qadis from the University of Science and Technology in Jordan. The lecture discussed gas emissions and global warming depending on the concept of modeling and simulation using different techniques and presenting the University of Jordan’s experience in the field of combating gas emissions.

Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Dr. Khawla Mansour, stressed the importance of organizing such scientific lectures, as they open new horizons for learning about different visions and experiences in the field of gas emissions and climate change.

Dr. Mansour explained the importance of the scientific research carried out by the faculty in the context of climate change and gas emissions, noting that this research is necessary to keep pace with the study of the effects of global warming on the region.

Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mazen Ibrahim, pointed out the importance of learning about the experiences of other countries in the field of research related to gas emissions, which have become a global concern in light of accelerating climate change.

Dr. Ibrahim said that such scientific lectures contribute to highlighting the methods that these countries and universities have come up with to confront gas emissions, which provides an opportunity to adopt and develop similar solutions and support international efforts to combat global warming and achieve environmental sustainability.
