Damascus University participates in the 2024 Collegiate Programming Contest ICPC

 Damascus University is participating in the 48th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), hosted by Kazakhstan in the capital, Astana, between 15 to 20 September, along with Arab and international universities.

 

Four Syrian teams are participating (Damascus University, Tishreen University, the Syrian Virtual University, and the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology) out of 15 teams that qualified from the Arab region and North Africa for the global competition. The 2024 ICPC World Finals program includes the following:

September 15: Team arrival and registration.

September 16, Opening Ceremony at the Presidential Center.

 September 17 - ICPC Tech Trek, ICPC Challenge.

September 18: 2024 ICPC World Finals Astana Dress Rehearsal

September 19: 2024 ICPC World Finals Astana

September 20: Departure.

 

In a statement to Damascus University website, Vice President of Damascus University for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Warkozek stressed the importance of Damascus University’s participation in the global final and that the it is a permanent participant in this global competition, which attests to the excellence of our students in the programming field.

 

142 teams, who are the best among the teams competing in the qualifiers around the world, representing 3,000 universities from 111 countries are participating in the competition. The participants who have passed a multi-level selection process (local - national - regional) will compete for the title of best solver of algorithmic problems in a 5-hours test to solve a set of problems, with the aim of finding a written, executable software solution in one of the programming languages ​​approved in the competition.
