Launch of the First Module of the Academic Fellowship Program in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry

 The first module of the Academic Fellowship Program in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry, consisting of seven consecutive modules, was launched at the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University. The program was organized by the Office of Professional Practice in cooperation with the Departments of Fixed Prosthodontics and Dental Treatment at the Faculty.

Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Khaldoun Darwich, confirmed that the faculty launched the fellowship program within the framework of continuing education and training, with the aim of providing advanced and comprehensive education for doctors in the fields of cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He explained that the program enhances the practical and cognitive skills of the participants, and raises the level of medical care provided. He added that the faculty had previously launched several fellowship programs, with the aim of raising the level of academic and professional qualification for dentists, with a focus on providing high-quality training that keeps pace with global developments in this field.

Head of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics, Prof. Mohammed Louay Murad, pointed out that the fellowship program is the result of cooperation between the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and the Department of Dental Treatment in the Faculty of Dentistry, and aims to cover several specialized aspects in cosmetic dentistry. He explained that the first module will focus on diagnosis and developing a treatment plan, while subsequent modules will be characterized by integrating dental specialties with cosmetic dentistry. The fellowship lasts for a full year, with 150 training hours that include theoretical, practical and clinical aspects. He also pointed out that the number of participants does not exceed 25 people to ensure the quality of training.
