In a move reflecting its academic and cultural openness, Damascus University has announced the launch of a Turkish Language Department as part of its new programs at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities for the 2025–2026 academic year. This addition joins a distinguished list of departments aimed at meeting labor market demands and fostering cultural exchange among nations.

A research team from the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science in Damascus University has successfully developed new chemical precursors for tellurium compounds, used in the synthesis of colloidal mercury telluride quantum dots (HgTe CQDs).
