Damascus University- Faculty of Dentistry signed a memorandum of understanding with the American Arab Academy of Dentistry in California, aiming to deepen and develop relations of scientific cooperation and academic exchange between the two parties. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the university by the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Khaldoun Darwish, and on behalf of the Academy, by its founder, Dr. Tariq Al-Tinawi.
The memorandum stipulates the exchange of experiences and knowledge and the enhancement of academic and scientific interaction between faculty members and researchers from both sides, in a way that contributes to developing curricula, raising the level of medical and dental education, organizing joint scientific activities, developing students’ skills, and enhancing training and continuous professional development for faculty members and students.
Areas of cooperation include: attracting international lecturers and trainers for scientific activities, jointly organizing conferences, scientific and practical seminars, and workshops, developing long-term specialized training programs, holding periodic scientific forums, launching joint research projects, holding intensive courses, and providing training programs and free live and online lectures for students and faculty members.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, President of Damascus University, indicated that the memorandum aims to encourage joint scientific and research work between the Faculty of Dentistry and the Academy. He also noted that there is an ambitious plan to establish an advanced laboratory with artificial intelligence technologies in the Faculty.
This Memorandum shall enter into force as of the date of signing, and shall remain in effect for a period of five years and shall be automatically renewed for a similar period.
