Faculty of Science Concludes the International Scientific Conference "Creativity Meets Challenges for Scientific and Technological Progress”

Faculty of Science at Damascus University and the Iraqi Mathematical Society concluded the 14th International Scientific Conference of the Iraqi Mathematical Society, entitled “Creativity Meets Challenges for Scientific and Technological Progress”, in the specializations of mathematics, statistics, computer science and physics.

The conference came out with several recommendations, including: emphasizing the continuity of solid theoretical scientific research to support applied mathematics with new mathematical models and formulas, encouraging applied research due to its great importance in the field of sustainable development, and focusing on the role of mathematical modeling and simulation for their important role in formulating countries’ policies that ensure an insightful future vision for many important vital areas.

The researchers recommended encouraging research related to developing mathematics curricula and keeping pace with scientific and technological developments, focusing on teaching and learning mathematics, in addition to emphasizing statistical research to evaluate work, demonstrate performance efficiency, and diagnose areas of excellence and shortcomings in institutions.

It is noteworthy that the conference lasted for two days with participants from Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.
