First Summer Camp Exhibition 2024 at the Faculty of Architecture

Faculty of Architecture at Damascus University launched the first international summer camp exhibition 2024, in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students, Syrian public and private universities, Damascus Governorate, the Embassy of Chile, and the Jordanian Architects Society.

 

Governor of Damascus, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Kreishati, stressed the importance of organizing the summer camp at the Faculty of Architecture as a vital platform for communication between students of Syrian public and private universities.

 

He also referred to the ongoing coordination between the Faculty of Architecture and Damascus Governorate to develop projects that are in line with the interests of students, especially those related to master's and doctoral theses, within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the governorate and the university.

 

President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, pointed to the importance of university events organized by the faculties, which aim to link the university with the society. He added that such events contribute to enhancing the university's role in serving and developing the community, by providing solutions and projects based on scientific and practical foundations.

 

Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Reda Deeb, indicated that the summer camp was launched with the participation of 400 students from seven Syrian universities, including 350 students from Damascus University, with the aim of supporting architecture in Syria during the reconstruction phase. She also explained that the projects worked on during the summer camp included studying archaeological areas in the Old City of Damascus, in cooperation with other partners from other universities.
