Various research studies in physics, computer and mathematical statistics at the 14th International Scientific Conference of the Iraqi Mathematical Society, held at Damascus University

Scientific participation in the 14th International Scientific Conference of the Iraqi Mathematical Society was distinguished by the diversity of topics raised within its four axes, through scientific and research papers and lectures presented by researchers from Syrian, Iraqi and Lebanese universities.

Nine research papers in the physics axis from the Syrian and Iraqi sides were presented, according to Dr. Kamal Al-Kayed. They dealt with multiple aspects of physics, including theoretical, medical, and solid-body physics.

Dr. Shaima Awad Kazim from the Department of Physics at the University of Kufa participated with two research papers. The first was in medical physics and entitled “Detection of Prostate Cancer” by studying and comparing the serum concentrations of these elements in a normal prostate cancer group. The second research was in the field of atomic physics to produce energies between electrons.

Dr. Heba Abdel Rahman from the Department of Physics at Damascus University also participated in a lecture on the optical properties of graphite oxide samples prepared by heat treatment of graphite samples.

Dr. Maysaa Abd Ali Khader from the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Technology in Baghdad pointed out that the conference constitutes an important platform for exchanging ideas, experiences and information in the field of computers, and the latest technological developments.

Dr. Yasser Al-Zaeem from the Department of Mathematical Statistics at Damascus University presented a research paper entitled “Mathematical Expectation of Sample Variance in the Simple Sampling Technique.”
